Do You have the same type of module? A have devkit 8000 256 Mb 7" LCD. I have 10
modules. So far started 4 of them with the same result. When i start modules with
Linux network works fine. Did You try it with Yours module?

I called the support i ask them if there are new BSP for devKit but they told that
this image shipped with the CD is the newest.

I don"t know what to do. Send modules back to the producer?

Hi Robert,
Yes I have the same module Devkit8000 with 7" LCD. I have emalied support
but have not heard anthing back yet. Emalied them on Thursday.

It seems like its the newest BSP. I think the issue is that there are no drivers
for LAN and thats the reason its not working. I have not yet tried searching for
any drivers yet. I am a software Engineer. I have just been busy and not been
able to spend alot of time on this.

I have not yet tried in Linux but if you have tried it then have a look if linux has
any ethernet drivers which I am sure it will have. Let me know I"ll try again at
some point today and tomorrow to see if I cna fix it will post if I find
something, in case you do then let us know as support is pretty shixx

Hi Ali,
I tried Linux with ethernet and TCPIP. I turned on default configuration with
terminal connection. I setup ip adress using ifconfig command. Then i was able to
ping a few adresses in my LAN network. There were no problem with responses. So that
means that Linux has drivers and hardware works fine. But drivers from linux will not
work in WinCe.

About drivers of ethernet for WinCE. I think driver exists in the system. But maybe
driver is faulty. When I want to change ip adress from DHCP to manual the window with
networking freezes. I press suspend in winCE and then wake key on the board and then
i have IP changed. But there is no PING, ARP, WWW. No networking at all. With dhcp
lan does not communicate properly with the DHCP servwer. I checked router log file.
DevKit does not get ip adress. After some time random ip is set. It is very strange.

Before buying those modules i was testing 4.3" devkit and networking was OK. Now it
seams WinCe image is different. 2 months diferrence in dates. Looks like they did not
test those modules enough with these configuration.

Do You have one module or more? I have 10 modules but tried 3 of them so far with the
same result.

I think You used incomplete image update procedure. When I was updating the flash i
did all of the steps a,b,c. Looks like You did only c. Maybe this is a reason of
errors. I dont" see errors like that. If You want to disable KITL You can do that
during update procedure  and there should be no errors about kitl. Did You load image
after BSP recompilation? Do You use original SD card or different? What I noticed it
is also important how You copy files to SD. First should me MLO, than other files. I
do that according to procedure described in there document. When I tried to do that
by copying all of the files on-time there were problems with updating the image. Try
to do that as they suggest.

I have different error after boot.

Ali,

I did the same. I put the image on sd card and boot. Situation is the same, still no
network. I tried to recompile the image a few times with different modules, but with
no positive results :(

I also have images from different version (with 128 MB memory) dated 2 months before
actual. I tried to compare them. There are some differences with project options. I
tried to compile image with the same options, but result the same. System boots up
OK, no network. Interresting fact is that with USB connection WWW browser is working
fine. It presents pages. But LAN is not available.

I also checked again if the module ethernet is working in Linux image. When i set ip
manually and turn on interface network works. I tried only PING and ARP and both work
OK. DevKit id visible from PC and viceversa.

I noticed strange thing about SD cards. I have a few of them but only one is booting
properly. The rest don"t want to boot devkit. Formatting with the suggested program
doesn;t help. I dont know what is the reason of that.

So we still don"t have working network in our modules . Still there is no response
from support!

Not sure what is going on here but this is what I have found.
When the Windows CE boots up its looking for drivers for chip LAN911X
which of course is not the device on the Devkit8000. Devkit8000 has
DM9000AEP as a controller module.
The XLDR does not see this as a module and hence the chip never gets
initialised. Drivers of DM9000AEP are in the code but I dont know how much
its valid. Also DHCP is disabled by default. I will try something either today or
tomorrow and if I find something ill post.

It is strange. All used network drivers are possible to configure in BSP in a bat
file(forgot the name). I noticed, that only DM9000AEP is enabled. When WinCe boots I
have DM9E1 icon in networking. Do you have the same icon? I don"t have LAN 911X icon.
How did You find out, that LAN911X is looked for loading? Because there are some
registry keys? It is possible to change those keys in visual studio and compile the
image. I was trying yesterday a few options but without success.

Yes its true to edit the registry files in VS. When the system boots up you
need to hit the space button and you will see that DHCP is disabled and also
if you look and play inside the menu you will see that it can not find the
ethernet controller. When you read the debug just follow it through in code
and it will take you to controller which is not even on the devkit8000. Also the
bat file is i think devkit8000.bat where you set this up. I was getting the same
I con i think but I am not any more. What I am looking to do now is that when
you create a connection (LAN) why is PPPoE graded out.

I dont get any icons in the network connection now but have the option to
create a connection once DM9000 is enabled but can not select PPPoE

I also noticed, that there is no network card detected during eboot work (when press
space). It might be the reason of our problems. But how to fix it? I have no idea
what to do know.

Network works. New image available <--- 〖Reply to this〗

I received information from support that new image is available. I downloded this
file and installed image on devKit. Network works fine now. DHCP works and manual ip
also. WWW browser loads pages and it is possible to communicate by tcpip with other
devices. So it was error in the image. My problems are solved.

I Am not sure if i should post information about how to download this image. I think
the producer should do that.
